Swedish House Mafia

Composed of three separate DJ/Producers, the group Swedish House Mafia exploded onto the electronic music scene with their release of the single “One.” The song was composed by the members, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello, and Axwell, all of whom are well-known and respected by their own right. Using vocals from the popular artist, Pharrell, “One” climbed its way up the charts and took over dance floors all over the world.

I Wanna Know Your Name Name Name
Let’s start with Sebastian Ingrosso, who was ranked #16 on the DJ Magazine Top 100 DJ list of 2010. Besides making up one-third of this DJ super group, Ingrosso also collaborated with David Guetta and Dirty South to create the hit “How Soon is Now” in 2009. He won the award for the highest new entry into the chart in 2009 and with the growing popularity of this group, his future is looking to be extremely bright.

Next, we have Steve Angello, placing #14 on the DJ Magazine Top 100 DJ list of 2010 he also made quite a name for himself before the forming of this group. One of the first big remixes he released was in 2004 when he created an amazing version of Eurythmics “Sweet Dreams.” After being propelled into the house music scene by his remixes, in 2007 he released “Show Me Love” featuring Robin S and collaborating with Laidback Luke which swept through clubs and DJ sets everywhere. Recently, he took the song “The Island” by Pendulum and created an amazing remix with the help of DJs AN21 and Max Vangeli.

Last but not least, we have Axwell, coming in at #10 on the DJ Magazine Top 100 DJ list of 2010 he has also had a successful history before joining this super group. In 2004 he released the hit “”Feel The Vibe,” which secured his spot in the house music scene. Since then, he has produced his own songs as well as producing the remixes for other popular artists, including Usher, Pharrell, Nelly Furtado, and Madonna. He also took the popular song by The Temper Trap, “Sweet Disposition,” and gave it an electronic treatment that can only be described as incredible.

Sweden 2 Everywhere
After the release of the single “One,” released another hit “Miami 2 Ibiza” featuring UK recording artist, Tinie Tempah. Soon after that release, they dropped their first album Until One, which did well on the charts but was not quite able to make it to the top. Touring now as a group, their shows are selling out well in advance in the UK and soon they will be appearing in Miami for a show at the Masquerade Motel. Their signature saying rings true with many of their songs, “Goosebumps don’t lie,” and with the beautiful build ups followed by crazy drops, I find myself getting goosebumps listening to their creations.

  1. I am a huge fan of Electronic Dance Music! While most people think it is just a happy soundtrack for people in a drug coma, I find it more than inspiring! There some songs that reach your core and give you goose bumps, which I have never found with other music! While I don’t necessarily like this the Swedish House Mafia, I love your passion for this music!!!
